Tres Chic

www.enchantedtreasures.com
This is very beautiful. Notice the detail on the mirror, the cleanliness in the all white inspired room. I could not live in a whitewash room, but this is very beautiful and very elegant. Shabby Chic a la mode, tres jolie. The rose tones is a plus and the 'wall paper' shines and gives the look an elegance to the room that inspires.

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE IT EASY, SIT DOWN, AND SMELL THE ROSES

Today is a day for soul searching for me! Why am I so different? I hear the rich and famous, the poor and the plain alike say they like this and that, and it is always so fancy. I like Retro 1970s for the most part and the Depression Era look, too. I adore reading Reminisce books (based on the magazine by the same name). Well, I will make two comments: First, I do not like hotels. I find that no bed in the world offers the comfort of HOME. Second, I value a wrapping such as the one above, a lovey gift-wrap and it is a humble wrapping,so pretty. A toast to the Retro Shabby and the French Chic! They blend well ... You know what I mean ... I recall that in Rio de Janeiro I purchased a few items. The pink tissue paper was strong and lovely, and the most elegant pink flowers were placed inside the gifts. I was touched by so much detail. We live in a fast moving, high tech society and we all have such busy lives ... Please, live and keep occupied, but 'DON'T FORGET TO SMELL THE ROSES,' their fragrance is called living well without fuzz!

FRENCH SHABBY CHIC

I like Shabby Chic! No, the feeling is more intense. I live French Shabby Chic. I Google searched these entries under French Shabby Chic and I also post two boards on Pinterst on the theme. But why would I adore the feminine, refreshing, beautiful style? It is hard to define because I am not into blues and I do not like whitewash anything, and yet, I like it. In a way, it reminds me of the Art Deco buildings, windows, cinemas, home decor I grew up with. The film that inspired the modern French Shabby that is very chic was a production by Sofia Coppola. Marie-Antoinette was a lovely film and Manolo Blahnik -the shoe prince, designed the shoes for the film. I hope that Miss Coppola will one day win for best director on Oscar night. She is very talented and I found her to be an excellent actress on The Godfather III. I am not a huge movie fan, but 'good is good.' I wish I could bring color to these pics, pastel shabby and tres chic, but it might kill the mood ...
Such as lovely Shabby Chic bride! I, too, wore a lovely lace shabby chic gown ... on when I married my husband ten years ago. The charming dress on this pic reminds me of the Boho look ...

SUMMER PROJECTS THAT ARE USEFUL FOR US GALS

two aprons, the one on top: www.kaboodle.com
the apron on the bottom, blue-pink: overthetopaprons.blogspot.com
These shabby chic aprons appear on google.com and I wrote down the source.
These are lovely and it is wonderful for young girls to learn sewing by using a pattern and making an apron that they can use right away. Summer is a perfect time of year to refresh ones sewing skills or to learn how to sew. These aprons are wonderful gifts. Choose the color combination that you enjoy.

QUEEN OF KITCHENS

Isn't this a very familiar kitchen? Shabby Chic coloring and beautiful. A kitchen should be both functional and beautiful. Mais oui, tres chic! I absorb the beauty in this kitchen (which does not seem ideal for a busy kitchen with many children in it in terms of function). I can feel the spirit of Chopin in this kitchen. Do you know what I mean? Living with art and beauty, color and design, and musical notes of romance and melody ... the perfect kitchen for those who enjoy living with art.

PRESERVING THE PAST

Stylish Shabby Chic cups and saucers. I have always found great beauty in old-fashioned china, dinnerware to be precise. Tea cups and Coffee cups, and for those who do not drink herbal teas or regular teas and coffee, these are suitable for apple cider/apple juice, hot cocoa/chocolate, cranberry juice and so forth. I like the old-fashioned cup and saucer sets as opposed to Mugs! The delicate elegance of cup and saucer has faded, but I grew-up with cup and saucer, and I cannot help enjoying the old-fashioned sets of dinnerware. Fancy or simple Fire King, it did not matter which was at the dinner table when I was a child. I found as much beauty on this sets as I did on the lovely flowers that I praised and enjoyed at close range. The stylish elegance and delicacy of the past should be preserved. There are a 'few' sets of china that are marketed as cup and saucer. No more mugs, please!

I LIVE SHABBY CHIC A LA MODE

I adore Shabby Chic, though I do not favor white, especially not whitewash walls. I like pink, but I love peach and purples and browns. So why do I find Shabby Chic irresistible in its romantic, simplistic style? I guess the answer is that Shabby Chic offers a refreshing look. The design reminds me of Art Deco buildings in my childhood. Furthermore, I like the modern-Marie-Antoinette shabby chic, tres chic look with all the French trimmings. I guess that is my answer. I may like early American and the country look, but the shabby and the chic blend well. I do not have the accent to force the vowel in the word 'tres' as in 'very' in French. Pardon the keyboard ... Press on any of the images in my blogs for larger photo resolution. Enjoy your day and have a shabby chic day.
